Part of it does MOdulate the outgoing signal and DEModulate the incoming
signal, so part of it is actually a modem.  There's also a bridgie thingie,
but "cable bridge" sounds like something you'd drive on. :)

--Danny, who frequently gets annoyed at "NIC card" and "ISDN modem" too...
