IDE Floppy

I just installed RH7 on a Micron transport NX. the install went fairly
flawlessly, however, on boot the startup will just sit idle for about 20
minutes when it gets to the spot where it is running through the ide
devices. It just seems to hang on the floppy. 
I actually shut the machine down after waiting for a little over 20-30
minutes. The next boot, it came up fine.

Any idea what is causing this?
