LILO and Win XP

I recently acquired a new SCSI HDD so I decided that I'd install Win XP on it so that I could run my games and my CCNA Lab software. To accomplish the install, I had to disable my ide chain because XP insisted on putting files on the master ide drive. Now with the ide chain reenabled I figured that the following block

other = /dev/sda1
	label = winxp
	table = /dev/sda
	optional

would allow me to boot XP. Instead I get 2 lines of gibberish to the screen and have to reboot. Is there something I missed?
