Red Hat 8 actually has an "alternatives" setup that I think is at
least vaguely similar to Debian's, so as long as he ran
redhat-switch-printer to pick one, everything should be OK.

In RH 9 redhat-config-printer (or something like that) can be used to
configure the printing system that is set as the default.
