I'm looking at this laptop, and I notice something different.

No battery! Uses a regular DC brick power supply. Or auto adapter, etc.

Anyone ever use one of these?

How important is it to be able to have the battery *in* the laptop?

Is it really a "one less thing to carry" must-have?

If you always shove your laptop into a carry case or backpack,
couldn't a battery / power supply live in there too?

I ask because I'm looking at my first laptopm, and I'm focusing my 
search on Linux-friendly AMD XP-M models $1000 or below.
