I'm pretty sure that your search should be for a new ISP rather than a
new mail transfer protocol. :)


Lots of people are using web-based email now, but that's pretty much
your option.  I still use SquirrelMail for my own stuff, but it's not
really as polished as one would hope - and it's really just an IMAP
front-end.
