My guess: sendmail checks a user's home directory to see if there's a .forward
in there before delivering to that user's mailbox.  When it finds that the
user's home directory is group writable, which implies that the .forward can
be changed (deleted and re-created) by group members, which is a bad thing.
Therefore, it warns you.

Then again, sometimes I'm wrong... :)
