iPlanet Msgr SMTPd dies on Solaris

I hope it doesn't bug anyone when I ask mention other
UNIX-like OS's...

I just installed iPlanet Messenger and it the SMTPd just
dies about every 3 or 4 days with hardly any load at all. 
(fully patched Solaris 2.6 on a 220R dual Sparc (running
Veritas File System and Volume Manager).  

Two Questions:

1. Has anybody heard of this happening and if so how do you
fix it?

2. In case no one has a good answer for #1, I'm guess I'll
write a script to monitor and then restart it.  I'm betting
someone already has a clever script along these lines.
