Erp. Setting up a dual boot, installing windows AFTER Linux

Erp.

At one point, I toasted my Windows (gaming and firmware upgrading platform)
partition's networking support, so I wiped the partition and started over.
Turns out it wasn't a breeze to just reinstall Windows, boot a Linux CD,
get in and re-run a LILO setup.

Here's my setup:
	/dev/hda1: 20GB FAT32 partition
	/dev/hda2: 512M Linux Swap
	/dev/hda3: 20GB Linux ext3 /
	/dev/hda4: 19.5GB Linux ext3 /home

After rebuilding the FAT32 setup in hda1 with mkdosfs and copying the contents
of a Win98 CD to it, I rebooted with a Win98 boot diskette and installed
Windows from C:\win98cd, where I had copied the files to. All of this went
by without a hitch. After this first stage of installation finishes, I remove
the boot diskette and reboot the system, expecting to be taken to the "hardware
detection" phase of the Windows setup, however, it stops at a message which
reads "Disk I/O error. Press any key to continue" or something similar.

Erp.

Anyhow, I whip out my Slack CD, boot with root=/dev/hda3, re-run LILO and
am once again able to see my boot choices of Linux and Windows. Linux works
fine (I'm here now), and Windows, when selected, displays the above message
(Disk I/O Error) and then returns to LILO when you tap a key.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Damacus
