Re: test network DNS server w/o Internet access: Is it possible?



Is there any particular reason you can't just set up an /etc/hosts file 
on all three machines, and edit /etc/nsswitch.conf so that the files are 
checked before DNS (which is the default on every system I've ever deen 
or heard about)?  Even if you're using windows, you've got 
$WINDIR$/hosts that is consulted before a DNS lookup.  Full-blown DNS 
seems a little excessive in this case, unless there's more to it than 
you're listing...
