Yeah, but I've gotta remember to put "modprobe ess1370" into my boot-up
scripts, because I can never remember to load it manually, nor does the
kernel autoloader (kmod?) seem to work quite right for sound or IDE CD-ROM
access.  I guess that's fixable, but I don't know how and am too lazy to
find out, unless someone helpful decides to post how.  Or if someone
describes it at the next meeting - assuming I convince Skip to let me out
of class (which is 6-8) on Tues.

I've never had my sound card break anything, however.  And I always built
everything into the kernel I'd use.  No more, since that makes the kernel
too big. :(

This is all semi-moot now, since apparently the "sound doesn't compile"
thing has been fixed since 2.2.0...
