You're living in the past!  :-)  They've approved seven, and two are
already on a timetable (.biz and .info).

You can pay to "register your trademark" or some such b.s., but that
doesn't ensure that you'll actually get the domain -- it just means that
the person who DOES will be notified that you think that you should have
it.
