Well, if you sold a car that wouldn't work on American roads, would that
not be a scam of sorts?

These people are accepting money on the premise that they are delivering a
useful product, but if no one can use it, then you are paying them for
nothing.

There have been several other schemes such as this over the years, but
none have achieved widespread adoption.

The next "legit" TLD will be .biz -- administered by the people at
www.neulevel.com -- and those addresses won't go live until October 1.
Of course, you are welcome to give your money to any number of "pre-
registrars", but none of them can guarantee that you'll actually get the
goods when the time comes.
