smbmount corrupted directory

I had an smbmount point mounte and, I guess, they dropped
my connection over night for backups. Since that time, the
mount point does not appear when you do an ls, it gives a
"I/O error stating dir". It wouldn't let me smbumount -
same error. I don't mess with Samba much. Is this a
common erro? Will a reboot fix it or is there another way
(scary inode repair stuff?)
