Could be a good point. Of course, that FAQ is dated October 2002, so 
perhaps his current answer might be different. Then again maybe not, as he 
still has MailScanner restart periodically and assumes command-line virus 
scanning.

Now, the next time I rebuild the mail server here I expect that I will 
follow your suggestion to move to Postfix & etc. 

We'll see...
