FYI, I can't really say much more, but I resigned. It's a long, long
story, one that I tried to work out repeatedly. All three parties lose
-- the company I work for, their "Fortune 20" client and myself. It's
sad, but one party could have avoided it all.

I do not have a job, but my wife secured one back in Orlando within
days. It's not a lot, but it will do until I find something.

The sad thing is that I took her away from her career as a teacher,
forfeiting her tenure, etc... to move up here from Orlando.

I thought my dedication would go noticed. It did by many. But not to
the people that it mattered. My mistake. I'm never doing this again.

I've got more lip service in the IT industry** the last 16 months than I
can stand. Heck, even what I've been getting in writing hasn't mean
squat. This is the 3rd time I've run into this over the last 16
months. I still cannot believe it.

If people even _think_ they can take advantage of you, they will. I
just can't believe people will break the law to do it. It's like people
don't think. And they think they do not need to be honest at all.

You put your life, your family and everything else on-the-line. And
they screw you, and then spit on you afterwards, denying everything.
Worse yet, their statements matter little in the face of the
requirements of law.

The second someone started covering their @$$, that's when I knew it
didn't matter what I did to try to help them. I tried and tried, and
nothing happened after months. It's a real sad deal, because everyone
loses.

Again, this had 0 to do with the actual "Fortune 20" client I worked at.

**NOTE: I'm most likely going to return to Orlando to become a teacher
myself. With so many people moving to Florida, the local school
districts have setup "Transition to Teaching" programs so those from
industry can make the transition. With an engineering degree, I can
teach Grades 6-12 math and science (as long as I pursue the post-grad
teaching certification over the next 3 years). I was going to do this
before getting offered this job, and I probably should have just stayed
in Orlando and done it.
